US eBay sellers using Seller Hub can let an employee prepare listing drafts without sharing the seller’s password or granting permission to publish. In a September 19, 2019 engineering account, eBay explains how its Multi-User Account Access feature separates those jobs. The company first announced the US rollout on July 24, with listings as its initial focus—not every task involved in running a shop. [S2][S3]

An owner who wants to check listings before they go live can keep publication authority and assign draft work to an employee. eBay documents separate permissions for creating and editing drafts, and for publishing and revising listings. Owners can change permissions at any time, with immediate effect, according to the company. [S2]

An invitation starts the process. The seller sends it to the employee’s email address with the permissions selected. An employee with an existing account at that address signs in; someone without one registers using that email. Once working in the seller’s account, the employee sees a limited Seller Hub view. A blue-bordered banner identifies the account and provides switching links, including for employees who have access to more than one seller’s account. [S2]

Owners can trace some of the work afterward. eBay says its activity records show when invitations are accepted and when listings are published or revised, with filters such as item ID or activity type. That helps identify what happened on the account; it does not establish that a listing is accurate. The technical account supplies no measured time saving for sellers or employees. [S2]

The restrictions extend beyond hiding buttons. eBay says it disabled some listing-flow features to prevent delegates from changing key business settings. Its technical account also describes carrying the employee and seller account context through the application and service layers, where permissions are evaluated. In practical terms, the interface is only one part of the control: the services handling the work also check the delegated access. [S2]

The first release remains narrower than the underlying design. eBay describes a framework that could limit listing actions by category, price or location, but does not establish those examples as controls sellers can already select. Its September account also places delegated order management, shipping, returns, cancellations and member messaging among tasks still planned. [S2]
