At NASA's Johnson Space Center, Staggs manages administrative functions for 13 base contracts supporting Commercial Lunar Payload Services (CLPS), valued at $2.6 billion, NASA reported on July 21, 2025. The initiative works with commercial companies delivering science and technology to the Moon in support of Artemis. Staggs is also the contracting officer for Firefly's Blue Ghost Mission-3. [S1]
The job also includes developing newer contract specialists. Staggs told NASA that her first Pathways intern had become a full-time NASA contract specialist and was working toward becoming a limited warrant contracting officer. The example shows one path from an internship into the agency's contracting workforce. [S1]
Staggs joined NASA as a civil servant in 2018. Before that, she worked in accounting and financial management at the Department of Defense and as a contract compliance manager for a small Texas business specializing in government contracts. [S1]
